A First Aid Course teaches essential skills to respond to medical emergencies such as cuts, burns, choking, fractures, and sudden illnesses. Participants learn how to assess situations, provide initial care, and support injured or ill individuals until professional help arrives. It’s suitable for workplaces, caregivers, and anyone wanting to be prepared in emergencies.
The Basic Life Support (BLS) course teaches healthcare providers how to recognize and respond to life-threatening emergencies. It covers high-quality CPR, use of an AED, and relief of choking for adults, children, and infants. BLS is the foundation for all resuscitation training and is required for most healthcare professionals.
The Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) course offered by the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada is designed for healthcare professionals who manage cardiovascular emergencies. It builds on the skills from Basic Life Support (BLS) and focuses on the recognition and management of cardiac arrest, acute arrhythmias, stroke, and acute coronary syndromes.
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course trains healthcare providers to respond to critically ill or injured children. It covers pediatric assessment, high-quality CPR, airway management, rhythm recognition, and treatment of shock and respiratory emergencies. The course emphasizes team-based care and is ideal for professionals who treat pediatric patients in emergency or critical care settings.
The Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) equips healthcare professionals with the knowledge and skills to manage newborn resuscitation in the delivery room. The course combines online learning with an in-person skills session focused on airway management, effective ventilation, chest compressions, medication use, and team-based care.
The Acute Care of at-Risk Newborns (ACoRN) course is a Canadian program designed to train healthcare professionals in the systematic assessment and stabilization of newborns who are unwell or at risk of becoming unwell in the first hours or days after birth. Developed by the Canadian Paediatric Society, ACoRN builds upon the skills acquired in the Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and focuses on a structured, priority-based approach to neonatal stabilization.
